Testimonials: Global War on Terrorism
The so-called Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) continues unabated following the 11 September 2001 attacks against the US. As policymakers and pundits attempt to determine whether or not the multi-faceted campaign to confront and overcome extremism has been a strategic success or failure, they rely on a handful of fragmented anecdotes crafted to fit a scripted narrative. Accordingly, the true stories of those who have experienced the varied effects of the GWOT often remain muted by larger news outlets. The goal of this project is to collect those stories, your stories, of how the GWOT has impacted your life, directly or indirectly. This forum is a tool to remind others that actions have consequences, and those consequences are seldom intentional.
